EUCHRE AND PING PONG. (From Our Own Correspondent.) > The weekly euchre and ping pong • party on Tuesday• was 1 very well attended, there being twenty full euchre • j tables. The ladies’ prize was won by Mrs Voullaire with nine and a half games. For the gentlemen’s prize, Messrs W. A. O’Neill and W. Hughes tied with nine games each. In the play-off, Mr O ’Neill proved the winner. There was very keen competition in the ping pong tournament, for which j there were twenty gentlemen entrants land about a dozen ladies. The gentleI men’s prize was won by Mr J. Gibson I after a very line final with Mr E. I Hooper and an even more strenuously ! contested semi-final with Mr M. Malone. (The ladies’ contest also provided some ) very closely contested games and was I, finally won by Airs J. Hamnierslcy, of Kaponga, after a' hotly contested' final with Airs .Tas. Gibson, also of Kaponga. On Friday the return euchre match between Riverlea and Kaponga is to be played in Kaponga. GENERAL. There are not many changes here this year. AL- Harry Johns has left for the Waikato, and Air La.va-11, formerly of Palmer Road, is now owner of that property. The farm adjoining Air La vail’s, and which was originally taken up by the late Air George. Gibson in its virgin stall-, has now been sold to wind up his estate and lias been purchased by Mr F. .Lilian, of Opunake. The only I other change pending so far as vour correspondent is aware is on Air Afarks’ farm on the Alangawliero Road, which is at present occupied by Ah- Harrington, whose lease has expired. 'The factory is at present, running every third day, but it is expected that : in two or three weeks hence it will probably be again running daily. Cheese I is still being manufactured. ,
