LOYALISTS MAKING PROGRESS
AT VERA CRUZ
MOVEMENT BREAKING DOWN

NEW YORK., March 7. A complete breakdown of the revolutionary movement at Vera Cruz and in other parts of southern Mexico were reported to-day, while the rebels in the north continued the drive towards Juarez, where, a handful of Eederal troops are waiting. General Jesus Aguirre, the rebels’ commander at Vera Cruz, is believed to have lied by I sea. Of the three revolutionary leaders two are reported to have been defeated, and the third, General Rorquez, is in Sonora planning a southward movement. Tile Government has reeo\ ereu the cities of Monterey, Cordoba, Saltillo, Orizaba, and Jalapa. Vera Cruz has virtually been recaptured. The naval forces have notified the Government of their loyalty. The first north-bound train from Mexico since the revolution left last night. Precautions are being taken at El Paso (.Texas) in the event of lighting at Juarez, across the border. Tlie Seventh United States Cavalry at Port Bliss is under orders to move today with full field equipment.
