(From Our Ow n Correspondent.) TOWX BOARD MEETING. The usual monthly mooting ol the Opnnake Town Board was held ou .Monday night. i hose present were Commissioners A. Raynor (actingcliairman). E. Hammond, 11. J. Mailtoy. W. E. Gnu son and W. J. S. Dudley .

The foreman (Air A. C. Donnelly) reported that the usual repair workhad been carried out during tile month.

The pomidkeeper (Air H. \\ iltshirc) reported that Jive head o! cattle had been impounded during the month and 11 head were released on the road. lit replying to a letter from the board, the Defence Department stated that steps were being taken to pass the Town Hall to the _ board as a municipal reserve, provided that the free use of the hall could be had at

any time for military purposes. The board decided to inform the department that this proposal was satisfactory.

Nurse Raynter reported that for .January the number of cases on the books was 87. A vote of thanks was accorded Airs Barry for providing free lunch for the nurse.

Owing to the rent of the building at present- in use being increased it was decided to ask the Town Board to grant the society the free use olf a room in the Town Hall.
