AUCKLAND CITIZEN’S BEQUESTS. LIBERAL SHARE OF ESTATE. i*3iegrapa —AssociaUua. i AUCKLAND, Jan. 31. Under the will of the late Mr Thomas Grainger, of 27. King Edward Avenue, Epsom, the Church 01 England and various charitable institutions in Auckland will bneefit to tlxe extent of about £35,000. The estate has just been sworn at £-50,000, and after payment of legacies to relatives, and charitable institutions and ol; succession and death duties the residue will amount to nob less than £30,000. This sum Mr Grainger bequeathed to the Church of England to be held in trust by the Bishop of Auckland, and to be applied by him to such charitable purposes as he thinks fit Although there is no direction in his will as to how the money shall be spent, Mr Grainger during his life expressed a wish that the bequest should, be used for the establishment of a training farm under the Church of England immigration scheme for boys or girls of British parentage. The money is at present invested in securities. Legacies to charity include £IOOO to the orphans! 'home at Papatoetoe, £SOO to the Jubilee Institute for the Blind. £SOO to the Society for the Protection of Women and Children and the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, which were one body at. the time the will was drawn, £SOO to the Manurewa Children’s Home, £SOO to the Salvation Army for expenditure in Auckland) and £SO to the Thames Hospital Board. ..
