WATER POLO CONTEST.

HAWERA SWIMMING CARNIVAL. FRIDAY’S ATTRACTION. Aquatic thrills for all are promised at the Hawera Municipal Baths tomorrow, Friday, evening, when the ‘Amateur Swimming Club is presenting the .second electric light carnival of the season. A water polo contest, in which Hawera and Inglewood teams i will meet in the Dalgleish cup contest, should prove a big attraction, and prove even more popular than the game which provided exciting sport at the opening carnival three weeks ago. Among the star individual competitors who are to appear in the swimming events are S. Anderson, of Hawera, t(he Taranaki sprint champion, who lowered the record when winning the title at New /Plymouth last Saturday; J. Oliver, senior dive champion, A. Dowdle, intermediate swimming champion, W. Mundy, senior breaststroke champion and record holder; Miss E. Kelson, junior girl champion. Visiting swimmers from all parts of the province will also appear. The programme commences at 8 o’clock.
