PATTERSON CUP COMPETITION. MANGATOKI v. WAIOKURA. The above teams met at Okaiawa last Waiokura, being the winnemb after an .interesting; game. The gam© was - adjourned when the fire alarm rang, and some of the players lent assistance in removing the contents of the buildings threatened by fire. Mangatoki were making a good stand, before, the alarm was pounded, but on resuming their luck seemed l to change. Thomas, foir Mangatoki, compiled _ ;ai useful! 21. being bow'ied by Whalen with a beautiful ball. He was tlie only orte to reach double figures, although Brewer played well for eight. Whalen (four for 23) and Bloomfield (three for 14) secured the wickets. Waiokura have Whalen to thank for surpassing Mangatoki’s score, his total being 44, including four sixes. Bloomfield (13) all so- played well. Gemhofer secured four wickets for 14 runs. The position of the teams at present shows Okaiawa with two losses two points ahead of Te Ngutu and Mangatoki. ■ The matches still to be played are : Mangatoki v. Riverdale: Okaiawa v.
