LONDON WOOL SALES.
KEEN CONTINENTAL COMPETITION. PRICES REMAIN STEADY. < i.n-t-ii Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) (Australian Frees Association.) Received 11.10 a.m. to-day. LONDON, Jan. 16.
At the wool sales 7427 hales were sold, of which 6153 were Australian and 1022 New Zealand. There was a good attendance from all quarters. There was a capital selection of Continental style and finer merinos, with a small supply of sorts suitable for Yorkshire. Prices were steady. Merinos generally were unchanged. Crossbreds evoked keen Continental competition, with prices slighly in- sellers’ favour. There were some withdrawals of shabby second-hand lots owing to the high limits.
