WAVERLEY.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) TOWN BOARD MEETING. The first meeting of the vear held by the Town Board was held in the board- room on Wednesday last. Comr. R. P. Palmer was in the chair. Other members present were: Comrs. A. J. Adlam, W. P. Wallace, S. J. Taylor. An apology for non-attend-ance was received from Comr. W. Wicks. Accounts totalling £77 13s Id were passed for payment. The matter of connecting the cemetery and the reserve with the town water supply was left to the decision of Comr. Adla-m. The chairman reported having interviewed a local contractor, and it was hoped that the work of tar-sealing the main street would he proceeded with at the earliest date possible. Owing to - the increased- amount of motor traffic in the t-oyrn the local residents are urged to pay greater attention to the traffic regulations. WAVERLEY BEACH. The Waverley beach was a scene of the greatest animation on Sunday, crowds of visitors and local residents being at the seaside.
