There was a large congregation at Christ Church, Beckenham, at the memorial service for Archbishop Harrington Lees. The chief mourners were Sir William Lees and Mr. and Mrs. Linwell. The clergy included the Bishop of Rochester. In the course of a eulogy the vicar, the Rev. John Thorpe, said that the last seven years showed how successful Archbishop Lees had -been in his high office. He was a leader of' outstanding ability, and of untiring energy. Their hearts went out to the young widow.
