The coroner to-day inquired into the death of Nola. Rowley, who was killed at the bottom of a precipice at _Eah.o Point*, Katoomba, early on New Yeavfe morning. Cyril Thompson, a* brother-in-law, deposed that lie drove a car from. Sydney to Katoomba on New Year’*s Eve, th© party consisting deceased’s brother and sister, two young men and Noilla,. There were a dozen bottles of beer and 1 whisky in the car. The party danced in the La Plaza saloon. Echo Point, tisl 2 *a.m. Nola retired with a. man. She was later discovered in an intoxicated' condition, arguing and crying alternately. A free fight occurred among the young men over Nola, who was seen to climb over the guard rail of the. Echo Point lookout and drop over the cliff nearly 200 feet. Thompson was of opinion that she must have obtained liquor from others whi'ie outside, the* saloon. The coroner returned a verdict that Nola had committed suicide through temporary mental derangement caused by partaking of too* much liquor.
