Scotland Yard is investigating the the mysterious murder of Vivian Messites, aged 55, the Southampton manager of an American oil company, whose body was found with a revolver wound through the back of the head. The body was found inside a private garage at Southampton, which was padlocked on the outside, ten weeks after his disappearance. The police theory is that, the murder was committed away from the garage and that the body was taken there. The post mortem examination reveals that death took place two months ago. Messiter was last seen on October 30.
