NEW EARL OF EGMONT. (Australian Press Association —United Service.) Received 12.25 a.m to-day. VANCOUVER, Jan. 11. A message from Calgary (Alberta) states that Charles John Percival, the new Earl of Egmont, who has been a rancher near here for twenty-six years, said to-day that lie will not take his seat in the House of Lords, and will remain an Alberta rancher. THE NEW EARL. Received 12.5 p.m. to-day. OTTAWA, Jan. 11. . A message from Calgary states: F. J. T. Percival, the new Earl of Egmont, has been farming in the Priddis district for several years. He is a widower and resides on his holdings) with a son aged 14. Priddis is a re-' mote hamlet, cut off from telephone communication at nights. The new earl is 55 years of age. He married Cecilia, a daughter of James Burnsmoor, of Montreal, in 1911. His wife died in 1916. He states that lie has no intention of dropping everything at the farm to take up the earldom immediately.
