THE NEED OF SHELTER.

The necessity of having ample shelter for stock at all periods of the year has been urged many a time, but it has not come more under notice than during the very few hot days this week (says an exchange). Although only shortly after S a.m., it was noticed one day that, iip one paddock in which there were two willow trees and from 150 to 200 sheep, as many sheep as possible were clustered in the shade under the trees, and those unable to obtain “seating” accommodation there had to content themselves by grazing in tlie blazing sun. Horses and cattle were in the next paddock, but they were more fortunate with regard to shade, and every one of them had taken up a position where they would he sheltered from the sun’s rays. It has been said well by experienced men that shelter means a solid proportion of the output of the farm.
