A LUCKY FIND.
RECORD PIECE OF AMBERGRIS
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) DARGAVILLE, Jan. 11. A record piece of ambergris, estimated to weign 224 pounds avoirdupois weight, was found at the spit near Kaipara beads yesterday by Mr. V. Subritskv and liis brother, who were motoi’ing in the vicinity and noticed it in the tide. The piece was so large that they had difficulty in getting it into the car. On arrival at their beach camp it took four men to carry it. The ambergris was brought into tlie hank to-day and will he shipped to London. It is probably the largest single piece ever found in New Zealand. At the present market rates it is worth several thousand pounds.
