Sir Basil Blackett, the recently appointed chairmato, 'considers that the Communications Company will increase .the cheapness and efficiency of (the l Empire communications. Its dividends ' will be six per cent, and any excess profits will be divisible- equally between the company and a reduction l off -rates or ffo-r -other purposes approved 'of by the advisory committee, “This is j a big and new advance on Lines off inter-imperial public utility service, substituting co-operative development in telegraphic communications for uneconomic competition, and securing all the attendant advantages at cheaper rates for the public,” he said.
The sale to the Communications Company off the assets of the Cablei and Marconi companies in -exchange for the company's shares provides a capital off £30,000,000.
