The cortege was one of the longest seen in Wanganui for some years, and was particularly representative of the fanning community, settlers from all parts of the Wanganui, Rangitikei and South Taranaki districts being present. In addition, a large number of city’ residents paid their respects at the graveside, including representatives of all local bodies in Wanganui and various organisations in other parts.
