AFTERNOON RESULTS. The weather during the afternoon session of the Hawera Tennis Club’s tournament was threatening. The wind 1 , however, died down, and there were several keen contests which delighted a large attendance of enthusiasts. The details of further results are as under: MEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP SINGLES. M. R. Jones defeated J. H. Clemance I—6, 6—l, 6—o; S. Powdrell won from B. McCarthy, 6 —l, 6 —l; L. Berg won from A. C. Hebb, 6—2, 6-2. MEN’S HANDICAP SINGLES. B Grade. First round. —McLean (8) defeated H. J. Hale (scr), 70—63. GIRLS’ CHAMPIONSHIP SINGLES. First round. —Miss D. Lobb defeated Miss B. Eaves 6 —l, 6 —2. BOYS’ CHAMPIONSHIP SINGLES. R. McCarthy defeated D. Rawson, 6 — o, 6—o.

LADIES’ CHAMPIONSHIP SINGLES First round. —Miss W. Knight defeated Miss A. Page, 6 —o, 6 —o; Miss M. Waasher won from Miss E.. Goodson, 6—3, 6—3; Miss W. Rees defeated Miss C. Robertson, 6—5, 6 —5; Miss D. Hawken *wori from Miss D. Baker, 6 —5, 6—2; Miss Whittington defeated Miss A. Gibbs, 6—4, 6—l. MEN’S HANDICAP DOUBLES. NO PLAY IN N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND. Dec. 27. There was no play in the New Zealand tennis championships. The postponement committee, meets . again at neon, but it is, extremely doubtful if play will be commenced to-day.
