FIRE AT MT. EDEN.
A RESIDENCE GUTTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Dec. 8. The residence of Mr H. Francis, Peary Road, Mt. Eden, was completely gutted by fire' at 2 a.m. Mr Francis airi'd: his wife were' awakened foy the roar of fire and on opening the bedroom door they found the hall a mass of flames. Both scrambled out through* a small window, Mrs l Francis suffering from bruises and shock; The property was owned by Mr HI Hawthorn;
