UNIDENTIFIED MAN DEAD. (By Telegraph —Press Association.} AUCKLAND, Deo. 8. A man, name unknown, was knocked down by a motor car at- E'llersJio last night. The car wa® driven by Gage Brown, of Ellerslie. The man died in-, Auckland Hospital as aj result of head .injuries. An attempt to establish, his identity was unsuccessful. SETTLER SEVERELY INJURED. GISBORNE, Dec. 8. Advice has been received at Te Araroa that KingF. Reed, a well-known settler and county councillor, was severely injured -whilst riding in rough country at a back station. Medical assistance has been sent for. POLICE CONSTABLE! INJURED CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 8. As the, result of a collision between a tramcar and a motor-cycle with sidecliair attached, Police Constable George Murray was admitted to hospital last night suffering from severe injuries to his head - and ai compound fracture of the-leg. Murray was riding the motorcycle and he had in the side chair another constable, who escaped with minor injuries.
