(From Out Own Correspondent.) On Wednesday- afternoon it he pupils o!f the WhnTe.ro ai School, accompanied iby their teacher, Miss ; McCormack, had an interesting’ tramp through Mr H. Wells’ property on the South Road, to the Tawhiti stream, where at varied collection of specimen’s for nature study was made. Afternoon teai was generously provided iby Mrs Wells, after which the 1 party returned homewards aifter aJ thoroughly enjoyable outing. On Tuelsdaiy eevniug, the United Party’s, candidate', Mr J. D. Hislop, spoke at the Whareroa Hall to a fair attendance. Mr Hislop is a fluent speaker and he dealt with his various 1 subjects' in a very able and! spirited manner. After the address a few questions were! asked and answered. Mr It. Hicks was in the chair. A vote of thanks 1 to the speaker and of confidence iia his party was proposed iby Mr Chappie and seconded; by Mr Pope, and declared carried unanimously.
