METHODIST SYNOD.

* ANNUAL MEETING HELD. The annual meeting of the TaranakiWanganui Afethodis't /District Synod was opened on Tuesday afternoon at Wanganui when the special work of the ministerial session was completed. ■ The Rev'. W. W. Avery, chairman' of the district, presided, and was welcomed to the chair by the Rev. W. H. E. Abbey. The Rev. J. Reid was unanimously recommended for ordination at the next conference, and the Rev. F. J. Handy to be passed in liis, year. Air R. Tapp, Home Alissionary probationer, was recommended to receive full Home Alissionary status-, and Mr S. E. Bennet to be passed in his year. The Theological College report was received, satisfaction being expressed at the. high standard of educational work being maintained by the students. It was decided to place on record the committee’s' 'appreciation.-of the fact that two of the students had included music in the. subjects taken for the B.A. degree. . , V .- The full, synod met last evening as a Home Mission committee, when various grants to. individual circuits were recoinmen ded.The representative session commenced yesterday and in the evening at 8 o’clock a concert was given by- the members of Trinity Church elioir. An address was delivered by the -Rev. E’. S. Enimitt, Hawera.
