STAR STRANGER SCRATCHED. (B? Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 31. Star Stranger was' scratched for the New Zealand• Oup at 10.50 to-day. He developed trouble in one of the forekgs after the : previous' day’s gallop.
RICCARTON TRACK WORK. CHRISTCHURCH. Oct. 31. The weatner was showery during the night aiid oai’ty this' morning, but. the rain cleared otf before training commenced at Riecarton. Number six grasiSi was open, aind a large number of horses worked there, while others took on the ©and track. The iprooeiedjngs were- - uninteresting, not many being sent fast. Banket did siix furlongs in 1.19 2-5. ' First Money went four in 52 3-5. Decoy Bird went six in 1.22. ' Mand-ane did a working gallop well, the last'three furlongs taking 40 2-5. Nine of' Spade s covered a mile in 1.51. Laughing .Prince -dad a working gallop over a mile. Lucy Locket , and Set Sail finished two strong circuits with, a three fur.ong sprint. Mime jumped two hurdles well. Treilms jumped two hurdles, but ran about at each flight. Most of the other horses which were out were’ confined to useful pace work.
