NEW RAILWAY LINE.

International importance attaches to the inaugeration of the new railway from Nice to Coni, reducing the distance from Nice to Turin by 60 miles. The new line runs via the Alps and includes tunnels totalling 15 miles. M. Tardicu, at the opening ceremony, pointed out that the line had originally been planned for, military purposes, but it would be used for peaceful commerce. He hoped it would help France and Italy to know each other better.
