MANGATOKI.
(From O'ur Own Correspondent.) TENNIS CLUB. At the annual tennis meeting a very ■satisfactory' balance-sheet was placed before the members. Much credit is due to 'the officials for this because the courts alone cost £243, while now the only deficit amounted to £1 19s Bd.
Officers elected for the ensuing year were: Messrs R. Douglass, nresident and auditor; B. H. Parker, vice-presi-dent; L. Pease, secretary; S. Marx, captain ; O. Pilkinton, vice-captain; ! committee, Messrs O. A. Pease, It. and N. Linn, B. Nicholas, H. Clarke, _S. Parker, J. Lambic and 11. Lambie, Misses K. Lambie and M. Pease. It was decided to invite the Hon. O. J. Hawken and Mr O. A. Wilkinson to be present on the opening day, which will be held on Thursday, November .1.. A cordial invitation is also extended to members of the surrounding clubs. This year ladder matches will continue throughout the season. FUNERAL. The funeral of the late Mrs Webby was well attended. .The pall-bearers were: Messrs C. McGuinness, T. Perry E. Ousey, E. j. Gifford, P. T. Nicholas and E. H. Free. ANGLICAN CONCERT. On Thursday evening an entertainment will be given in the ball. The performers include the “Nigger Minstrels,” of Eltham, as well as local and outside talen't. The proceeds are in aid of the Anglican car fund. ■
