HAWERA CRICKET CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING
The annual meeting of members ol the Hawera Cricket Club AA r as held in the Borough Chambers last night, Mr. F. G. Treweek, club captain, presiding. There Avas a good attendance of members and a fine spirit of enthusiasm Avas in evidence. The chairman revieiving the financial position, said that the figures showed a balance of £4 lor the year, and that of the liability to the Borough Council, £lB, AA-oufd be received from the other local clubs. The clubs had, he said, a liability to meet of about £2O. Tlic amount due to the council included the installation of the water on the ground. On his motion a committee, consisting of Messrs Walkley, Treweek and Hooker, Avas appointed to go into the question of a concert by Avliich to raise lunds.
The selection of teams was left to the incoming committee. All members were urged 'to- help in the preparation of wickets during the season. The subscription was fixed at 25s a member. The election of officers resulted as follows. —Patron, Mr. H. G. Dickie, M.P.; president, Mr. B. McCarthy; vice-presidents, Messrs Pacey, G. Syme jr., H. S. Elliott, E. At. Beecliey, .J. At. Townsend, F. W. Sutton, G. PI. Ryan, J. S. Barton, S.At., TO. Constant and .T. E. Campbell; club captain, J. At. Nielsen; committee Alessrs E. Crombie, Giblin, TP. Hughes, B. Malone, W. Fairweather, L. A. Jennings, and J. Alills; secretary, T. McKenzie, auditor, J. M. Nielsen; delegates to South Taranaki Association, Alessrs Treweelc, Hughes and Nielsen; the captain and vice captain of each team constituted the grounds committee; selection committee, Alessrs Hughes, Giblin, Crombie and Nielsen. .The opening day was set down for September 29.
