Hunter threw •«, bombshell into amateur tennis ranks to-day .by stating he would mint play in the annual! east-west matches at Forest Hills ,on Friday and Saturday unless Tilden received an invitation to play (and accepted it. It is reported that Tilden lias not been invited to play in view of the difficulties over his standing and of the fear that if lie is to Ibe suspended on August 24, the association may be accused of using a box-office player to inomaise the receipts.
