CASEY DEFEATS McDONALD. (By Telegraph—Press Association,) PAIiMfIESRSTON N., Aug. 8. In the presence of •] COO people, Harry Casey, middleweight/ champion or New Zealand, this evening defeated Lachie McDonald, middleweight champion of Australia, on points in a, fifteen rounds professional bout for a, purse 01 .£l5O. The title was not at stake owing to At:,-Don aid not fulfilling the three months’ residential qualification. Casey was superior from the eleventh round, although McDonald finished strongly. Casey was very fit and as hard as nails, and his punch was like a sledge hammer. McDonald had not the same sting in his punch, but got home often. N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS. , A UCKLAND CANDIDATES.
