DROUGHT BROKEN.

Three weeks’ drought, which has been marked by exceptional and cent in lions heat, with only half the normal rainfall, has now been broken by heavy downpours throughout the country. Further intermittent rainfall is forecasted, and thereafter it is probable there will be a return to normal. Dairymen, and stock breeders arc hopeful, but meanwhile are suffering form the effects of the drought. Dairying and meat supplies are much below the average, and prices are correspondingly higher.
