OHAWE.
(From Our Own Corespondent). Owing to the recent frosts there as a shortage of grass in the Ohawe district. The swinghridgp over the Waangongoro river near the boatshed iis to be* reerected by the natives concerned. Tlhis will prove a great boon to both fishermen and bathers. A small charge will ha made for the uise of the bridge. Some time ago attention was drawn to the condition of the steps leading from, the bathing sheds to the _ beach, but up' to the present no action hao been taken to repair them. Access to •the sheds and beach by the stejps has been cut off. Strong eminent is 'being mad© by visitor's at their present concliiVion also at the condition of the footpath at the top of the hill to the sheds, which, owing s to .being washed out in places, requires attention. - Owners of dwellings at the beach are making preparations for'the coining season. Several secbichis have been plant - :d with early potatoes and flowed gardens attended to. ' i The metal contractors are still finding a. d.iifFicultv in obtaining the shingle rejHived, also sand.
