LONDON, July 25. Captain G. de Haviland, with his wife, broke the world’s altitude record in a* two-seater light plane. Using a standard Moth lie attained 21,000 feet in * seventy minutes. The temperature at 20,000’ feet was 27 degrees below freezing point. The previous record, 18,700 feet, was established by Germans in October, 1927.
