Andrews, a member of the City Council, has consented to ■stand aS' the United Party condidato for the Christchurch South, seat, conditional on an assurance being- given by the United Party that it will not, under any circumstances, vote to place the Labour Party in power provided no party is returned with a clear majority at the election.
