MEETING OF EXECUTIVE

APPRECIATION OP EXHIBITORS

At the ordinary monthly meeting of the executive or the South Taranaki Winter Show, held last night, Mr J. Ri. Cburigan wais in the chair and various matters concerning the recent show were- brought up and discussed. - The help given by the Hawera Municipal an-di Pipe Blands, was acknowledged and it' was resolved to make a donation to each of the sum of two guineas'. ♦The manager reported that letters of thanks had been sent to the bands, the judges -and stewards and others whohelped during the show. Appreciation of the value of the show was expressed by a nuunfaer of exhibitors in letters received.

It was reported that all prize money had been paid or had been made available to winners; .. A home industries exhibitor from Christ church. acknowledging prize money, thanked tho manager for the way lie had attended to the - entries, adding :-v “I hope to advertise your show anti promise to get others to exhibit next year. ” The headmaster of the Geraldine High School wrote: “Needless to'say, 1 shall have igreait pleasure in handing the various sum& to tlie ■winners in the presence of the whole .school. I trust this will he an incentive for other pupils to try next year.” • Air Olurtha Alaokenzie, director of the blind institute, Auckland, wrote : “The sail© of goods lviixdly oonxinoto-cL l>y t-li© rotary club members proved a great success. The total takings and orders amounted to well over £9O. AA T e thank you for your own personal interest in the' sale and my trustees have asked me to convey to the chairman and members of the executive their very hearty appreciation of their generosity in granting free space and thus enabling the sale, to take place.” “I-really must mention the. fact that you did not waste any time in paying out,” said Air Nelson Hughes, Maxwell “which leaves tlie impression on one,’ of your Raving a thorough organisation in your society.” The Plunkett Society secretary wrote acknowledging the generosity of. the executive of the show in again giving a space free. She added that tno society benefited by tlie hoop-la effort, to the extent of £69 19s H nett. The society paid out in casual wages no less than £6BO. Accounts were passed for payment and the meeting concluded.
