THE TOKAORA TEST.

FINDINGS CONFIRMED BY EXPERIENCE.

STATEMENT BY CHAIRMAN OF STR A TFOtR D COMP A NY.

“If the reports of the Tokaora experiments are compared carefully and without prejudice with the results ol the working of the Stratford Dairy Company it will be found that the findings of Air P. O. Veule (dairy scientist) are similar to the actual experience of the company, and justify the yield we have, .secured,” said Air J. B. Richards at the annual meeting of the Stratford Dairy Company yesterday. He said that any further investigations would go to show that- the factory was giving full credit to suppliers for tfie butter-fat they delivered. “You cannot have it both ways,” said Air Richards. “If you get the value in the yield you cannot have it in the price.” The Tokaora. cxneriment seemed to make it clear that high testing milk could not give the same yield a is; could be obtained from low testing milk. The scientist had, as a. result o” Ills investigations, advised farmers to go in for low testing herds, but that phase of the industry did not concern the directors. The directors had to deal with, the raw material as supplied and- see that it was dealt with and disposed of to best advantage. It was" the shareholder’s job to run his farm, and if be chose to go in for low testing cows, the factory staff would no doubt be delighted, but nf he decided to stick with a high testing herd the staff would still do its best.
