SHOOTING AT BISLEY.

COMPETITION FOR KING’S PRIZE. (Australian Press Association—United Service.) Received 12.55 p.m. to-day. LONDON, July 11. Thor© are 950 competitors in the first stage of the King’s Prize. An innovation was'made whereby the shooting began .at GOO yards, then 500, and finished at 200 yards. The leading 300 competitors wilt participate in the silver medal stage- on Friday and the final 100 will shoot off on Saturday. The .'ending scores were:—

When shooting began conditions were fnrily good, a bright light, steady wind and sun warm, but in the afternoon the heat was terrific, and there was no wind. Most of the competitors found the conditions distressing.
