TAX REDUCTION.
RACING CONFERENCE’S REQUEST. NO CONCESSIONS THIS YEAR. (By Telegraph—Special to The Star.) WELLINGTON, July 5. Representatives of the Racing Con-, ferenee and Sports Protection League interviewed the Prime Minister and the Minister for Finance privately today-, urging a reduction of taxation on racing clubs, particularly stressing the importance of increasing the rebate on totalisator tax to- country clubs, which are suffering from financial difficulties. It is understood that the Ministerial answers provided no hone of concessions this year.
