In the first round of the mixed doubles at Wimbledon, Crawford and Miss Akhuiist had a walk over the Germans Freenz and F mule in Hoffman. . In the. second round, Spence, and Miss Ryan beat Hennessey and Miss Jacobs, 6 —3, 6 —3 In the third round, Seroope and Mrs. Shepherd beat Barron Hopninn and Mists Bickerton, 6 —2, 6—3. Ini the third round of the men’s doubles, Patterson and Hawkes lieat Borotra and Laooste, 6 —3, 5 —7. 6 —4, 9—7.
In the third round of the women’s doubles, Misses Boyd and Aldinrst lieat Misses Shaw and Watsond, 7 —5, 6—4; Mrs. O’Hara. Wood and Miss Bickerton beat Mrs. Edwards and Miss Stokes, 6—l, 6—2. Rain stopped play in the men’s quarter final. Lett- and Hennessey are leading over Moon and Cummings. 6—l, 6 —2. The rain also stopped the second round of the mixed doubles when Crawford and Miss Akhurst were leading from Kehrling and Fraulein Aussem, 7- —6. THE WIMBLEDON TOURNEY. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, July 2. In the men’s singles lawn tennis championships at Wimbledon to-day Lae'oste (France), Coehet (Eran'ce), Tildon (United .States), and Boussus (France) reached the semi-finals. Tildon will meet Lae os'to and Coehet will meet Boussus 'for .places in the final. Tn the Women’s singles Miss Helen Wills (United States) qualified for the semi-fina'ls.
