LIGHT CRUISER ASHORE
IN HALIFAX HARBOUR. ACCIDENT IN DENSE FOG. VESSEL MAY BE TOTAL LOSS. (Australian Press Association—United Service.) VANCOUVER, July 3. The British light cruiser Dauntless, with a. crew of 400, i,s stranded on a shoal just inside Halifax Harbour, Commander McPherson has ordered all vessels to keep clear as there is a danger Of the cruiser breaking _in two. The crew and their effects, with the exception of the commander and sixty officers anti men who arei staying aboard, have been placed on the Canadian 'light cruisers Festudert and Ypres. There was a dense fog and a mistake regarding a buoy caused 1 the vessel to run aground. There were no casualties, but it is believed the cruiser will' be a total loss.
