OEO.
GENERAL ITEMS. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The usual l’ortnighly euchre party and dance was held in the hall last evening*. There was a record l attendance. The prizes were won by Miss Wool ridge and Mr. Tlorgan. The dance arranged for Thursday evening has been postponed; the new date will be advertised later. This dance is under 1 the control of an enthusiastic committee, and promises to be unique. It will include waltzing competitions and other novelties, and dance enthusiasts are assured of a good time. There is a good deal of sickness in the district at present, and the school attendance has suffered 1 considerably thereby, there- being as many as 14 absent on a recent date. As.’ is usual at this time of the year, there are a number of changes taking plate in the district. Mr. and Mrs. \V. Minliinnick and family are leaving shortly for Normnnby, and Mr. and Mrs. Bevan are also leaving shortly. These two families will both be much missed, as they both took an active part in the social life of the district. Mr. and Mrs. Haynes have returned from Wellington.
Air. and Mrs. Cameron and Mr. and Mrs. Low lie are at present away on their annual holiday. Mrs. G. G Mitchell is spending a short holiday in New Plymouth.
Mrs. Duncan Muggeridge has lately ■returned from a fortnight’s holiday in New Plymouth.
