CRICKET.

TRTAL TEST MATCH DRAWN. (Australian Press Association —United Service.) Received 11.50 a.m. to-day. LONDON, June 19. The test cricket match at Lord’s was drawn. England made 423 for six wickets, declared (Tyldesley not out 160, Tate not out 58). Nieholls took four for 105. The Rest made 195 for seven wickets (Ja.rdine not out 74). ADVERSE COMMENT ON THE GAME. Received 11.50 a.m. to-day. LONDON, June 19. The “Evening Standard” .states: Even the orthodox opening is disturbed by the miserable progress of the test trial at Lord’s. Colonel Trevor, in the “Daily Telegraph,” says that he is distinctly pained and the cricket-loving public is complaining bitterly. He thinks that ten and a half hours cricket on an easy pitch, with bowling of which nobedy thinks highly, ought to produce more than 551 runs for thirteen wickets. The batsmen, witli all the conditions in their favour, are not scoring more than 53 runs per hour, and are simply not trying to win in three days.
