A HAPPY GATHERING

In order to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of their wedding, friends of Mr and Mns Edwin Payne, of Collins Street, Hawera, foregathered with them and their relations at the residence of the Misses Buchanan, South Road, last evening, when a most enjoyable time was spent. There were present besides the principal guests of the evening, Mr and Mrs E. A. Payne (Amberley), with their two daughters; Mr and Mrs A. Jones (Hu.rlcyvi'le), with two sons and one daughter: Mrs F. years ago yesterday and Jived thirtyseven years at Knkaramea. where Mir Pavne was in business, and they have ' lived thirteen years at Hawera.
