TAiTJB ANG'A, June 20. Ait a large reuresenta.tive' meeting of men discharged from public works, na-tisfaction was expressed at the Prime Minister’s reply to Air. MacMillan, the local member, that the Government was considering opening up new works. Tn the meantime arrangements were made to allow the men to> continue to occupy the hutments. On Mr Mac-Mil - lan’s suggestion, the following motion wias carried. —‘“That this meeting is of the ooinion that the continuation, of the line" Taneatua to Opitikr will give the greatest measure of satisfaction, and create the least domestic dislocation amongst employees under discharge. Therefore the Prime Minister should he requested to act accordingly. A vote of thanks for the member for bis efforts closed the meeting.
