CONSTANTINOPLE, June 19
Following the separation of the Church from tihe State by legislation recently passed, a special commission hips submitted drastic proposals for the reform of the Mussulman religion, which, it believes, should follow the march of progress.
The commission suggests voice training for muezzlins, the introduction of musical instruments into the mosques, the provision of pews and cloakrooms. Worshippers should be no longer reauired to remove their shoes, and the liturgical language should he Turkish. The commission favours the training of preachers from the laity.
