ALLEGED EMBEZZLEMENT.
TWO KAiEONG A CASES. BOTH ACCUSED HEMAiNKED. At the Eltham Alagistrate’s Court yesterday, before Air T. C. Stanners, J.P., Harley Hector Henderson, late manager of the Kaponga branch of Newton King, Limited, was formally charged with that on July 28, 1924, being a servant of Newton King, Limited, he did steal the sum of £125, the property of Newton King, Limited. • The accused was. remanded to appear at Eltham on July 4, hail being allowed in his own recognisance of £250 and one surety for £SOO. John Harold Adam was also charged that on or about April 15, 1926, being then a servant in tlie employ of Newton King, Limited, at Kaponga, he stole the sum cf £lO2 2s, the property of Newton King, Limited. As in the former case the accused was remanded to July 4 and admitted to bail, himself £IOO and one surety for. £IOO. The charges were laid on the_ information of Detective A. B. Meiklejohn, who stated that tlie sums of £I2OO and £2OO in Henderson’s and Adam's cases respectively were involved.
