South and Central Mexico were shaken by earthquakes on Saturday night, which were continued on Sunday. In the State of Oaxaca it is feared that a number of victims are buried in the ruins of their homes. The damage to property is very widespread. SHAKE RECOEDED IN NEW ZEALAND. The Mexican ’quake mentioned in today’s cables was recorded at Ivelburn observatory on Saturday as a severe shake, and it was located as about 7000 miles away.
