TOUR DE FRANCE.

CLASSIC CYCLE! RACE. (Australian Press Association—United Service.) Received 11.10 a.m. to-day. PAiRILS, June 17. The Tour de France cycle race started at 9 a.m. from Le Yesinet. The competitors are divided into' two categoriesl, firstly teams equipped by big firms, and secondly individual racers reduced to their own means. The grouped racers are divided into five teams, namely: Ailcyon, J. B. Louvet, Aidelua, Ravet and Fonitan, and the individual racers are either isolated, or form nine provincial groups. The Tour de France is now divided into twentytwo stages of 107 miles daily, with several teams. The course follows' the coast line of the North Sea, the Channel, Atlantic ; and Mediterranean, the frontiers of Spain, Italy, Switzerland 1 , Lusemburg and Belgium, a total of 3360 miles, divided into three distinct sections. The starters number 169. There are five teams, including an Australian.
