MEAT FOR EXPORT.
INCREASES IN NEW ZEALAND SHIPMENTS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 16. Official returns of the. Meat Producers’ Board for eight months of the current year to May 31 show increases in the export shipments of practically all classes of frozen meat as compared with the corresponding period of the previous year. The total killings of stock for export from October 1 to May 31, 1928, were as under, the figures for the corresponding period last year being given in parentheses : Beef, quarters, 308,882 (128,997); wether mutton, carcases, 1,058,692 (1,278,150); ewe fmitton, carcases, 741,198 (777,764); lamb, carcases, 5,464,138 (5,104,916); porkers, carcases, 117,461 (49,095); baconers, 28,466 (35,426); boneless beef, freight carcases. 231,994 (184,763); sundries, freight carcases. 55,278 (51,142).
