HAWERA NOTES AND NEWS. (By “Limited.”) Partaga. has been doing some road work, and will not make, the trip to Hawke’s Bay next week. The plough track was workable this morning before the rain fed, and: the following gallops l were performed: — Biisox and Tiroilus went ovpr i&ieven furlongs, running the first five in 1.5 and finishing up in 1.33 j. Bisox was a couple of lengths in front of the hurdle horse .at the finish. Slvermine, by himself, galloped six furlong® in 1.17, the first half talcing 50 1-osecs. Roval Mint jumped off at the seven furlong post, being joined at the five by Captain Gaze.lv. the pair finishing up the gallop in 1.34. Ovazone. since joining J. Fryer js team,. hae not been asked to do much, and, looking nice and; fresh, she was allowed to stride along over a round, working very iresolutefy. She is intended for Wellington next- month. San Fera w.a*s‘ out doing useful exercise, and Cold Steel was .schooled, over a. couple of hurdles, showing improvement.
