The monthly -meeting of the local school committee was held oil Friday evening last, when there were provent.: Messrs' W. H. Saugster (chnfiinaii). A. C. Josephson and M. F. VouSvawe («ec-eta-ry). Leave of absence, owing to illness, was' granted -to Mcmsts D. Mel.con and J. W. Kenyon.

The prizes for Ivaponga, players* ware won bv Mr S. Sadler and Airs- Fr'ceman and the River-lea- prizes by Airs Thorp after playing off with Mi-s Voullairo and- by Mr AY. Thorp. ‘ Golf ’ prizes were won by Airs R. G. Cook with LV o-arnes, and Air 'O. AViJliani-s, who scored -a cluck. After the euchip a few dances were •held, the -music for which were- played bv Alts Evans ancl Mrs J. Gibson; Mr \Y. E. Hev acted as Af»C. A. return match', to be held a-t Kaponga on Tuesdav 26th i-nist., was arranged. and a -strong contingent from Riverlca- is ‘certain to go in on that date.
