NEEDS CAREFUL ATTENTION TO OBTAIN. GOOD RESULTS. One of the most delicate and scientific parts of your motor-car is the battery. The battery is a storage box, winch ..eeps a reserve supply of electricity for .vorking the seli-starter and lighting the lamps when the engine‘is stopped.
When the engine is running a supo y of electricity is being, produced by die generator and forced into the battery. Take care to prevent overcharging. When on long runs and the lights and self starter are being little used, switch cn the headlights for an hour or two. Too much current in the battery will damage it. Also, at least once a fortnight, see that the cells are filled with distilled water. If the terminal posts appear to corrode scrape them clean and then cover with vaseline. Neglect will ruin a battery in a few weeks. Care will prolong its life for several years.
