YOUTHFUL RUGBY PLAYERS.
PBOiMISE FBOM SCHOOL'S. There is keen interest taken in the various matches played every .'Saturday in the contest -for primary school teams and much good football is- being shown. A noteworthy match Was that between Pihama and Oeo (combined) and Kapanga, in which the former put up a cricket score of 55 to nil, almost the same as the result of the opening game in Engalnd of the 3905 All Blacks, who defeated Devon 55 to 4. Spectators speak very .highly of the form shown in that school match by Cowling (forward), Forsyth (half) and Scagar (centre) for the winners. The two former boys come from footballing families and the opinion is held that with proper coaching ‘these three will do well in the future. A match which created keen enthusrsm was played last week at -Auroa, when Manaia Convent had a win from Auroa after a ' keenly eonfeisted struggle. Two' ex-Hawera High School boys, who have played exceedingly well recently in -senior football, are McDonald and Murdoch. Bath have played as senior full-bia'cks, the former for Waimate and showed form that, won the approval of critics.' It is unfortunate, however, that McDonald has been advised not to play, because of his health and Waimate are the poorer because of that decision.
